Bard Second Half Surge Not Enough

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College women’s basketball team’s second-half surge was not enough to defeat RPI on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson Athletic Center.

It was a complete team effort for the Raptors against RPI, with each player contributing with either a point, rebound, or an assist. Jessica Martin was the lone Raptor in double-digit points with 10. Martin added two rebounds, two steals and an assist. Aislynn Dixon added nine points and three rebounds, while Erin Tobes had six points, four rebounds, two steals and three assists.

Tianna Gonzalez and Alexandria Thomas each had four points, with Gonzalez adding four rebounds and an assist while Thomas grabbed a rebound. Shirley Dong, Lexi Miller and Maeve O’Sullivan each had two points, with Miller grabbing a team-high 10 boards. Alleisha Romain added three points, an assist, and a rebound, while Melina Koulouri dished out an assist.

Bard struggled to get going in the first quarter but increased its energy by the second quarter, scoring 10 points. The Raptors scored 15 points per quarter in the second half, including outscoring RPI 15-10 in the fourth.
The Raptors are back on the road this weekend. They will play Skidmore on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Vassar on Saturday at 2 p.m.
