Free Bulk Item Pickup Returns

CITY OF NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh today announces its bulk item pick-up program schedule for 2025.

The City’s bulk item pickup program is free of charge to all residents and allows each resident to schedule pickup of larger items with the Department of Public Works. The program begins on March 26th and will continue on a quarterly basis for the remainder of the year. The scheduled bulk item pickup dates are March 26th, June 25th, September 24th, and December 17th.

Residents must schedule their bulk item pickup with the Department of Public Works Sanitation Division by calling (845) 565-1082, or the Department of Public Works at (845) 565-3297, no later than 3:00 p.m. on the Tuesday before the collection date.

Requests for pickup received after the cutoff time will not be scheduled.

Once scheduled, residents must place their bulk items curbside no earlier than the night before collection. Multi-unit dwellings may schedule a pickup by referencing their individual unit.

Households can dispose of up to five (5) bulk waste items under the program.
The collection of bulk items is limited to indoor/outdoor furniture, washers/dryers, and tires.

Building materials, car parts (except for tires), and hazardous items will not be collected.

Anything beyond the allotted five (5) items will be left in place and must be removed by the residents.

Separate arrangements must be made for bulk item pickups on days outside of the program.
