KINGSTON – Students in Yesenia Cruz’s Spanish class at J. Watson Bailey Middle School transformed their classroom into a bustling marketplace, creating their own storefronts complete with handmade goods and price lists!
These budding entrepreneurs practiced authentic language skills by bargaining, greeting customers, discussing prices and quantities–all completely in Spanish! This immersive “mercado” experience gave students real-world practice using conversational Spanish while having fun with their classmates.
