Marist Enjoys Record-Setting Day

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Marist University men’s basketball program rolled to an 83-38 victory over Iona at McCann Arena on Sunday.

The 45-point margin is the largest the Red Foxes have ever recorded against a Division I opponent in their history.

Marist hit four three-pointers in a span of 2:14 – with one apiece by Jaden Daughtry, Parby Kabamba, Rhyjon Blackwell, and Justin Menard – to jump out to a 10-point lead at the 8:53 mark.

Marist outscored Iona 16-4 over the final 6:50 of the first half, and took a 42-22 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second half, Marist used separate runs of 6-0, 12-0, and 9-0 to extend its lead to 43.

Marist’s largest lead was 46, which came on two occasions, both off field goals from Jordan Gabriel.

Marist held Iona without a field goal for the final 6:45.
