Marist Sweeps Doubleheader to Finish Regular Season

POUGHKEEPSIE – Marist Baseball closed out the regular season with a doubleheader, Friday afternoon against Bryant University, where they played two seven-inning games. The Red Foxes won both games of the afternoon to advance to 23-28 overall.

Game One
Bryant scored first with one run in the top of the third to go up 1-0.

The Red Foxes fought back in the bottom of the fourth with a run of their own to tie the game at one apiece.

Chris Diaz blasted a homerun to right field.

The Bulldogs retook the lead 2-1, taking advantage of an error in the top of the fifth.

Marist rallied in the seventh to score two runs and walk off the game in the bottom of the seventh and win 3-2.

Noel Rivera ripped an RBI single to tie the game.

Nathan Lincoln drove in the winning run with an RBI single.

Game Two
Bryant once again took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second.

Marist stormed back, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the second.

Chris Diaz blasted a homerun to start the rally

Drew McGowan kept it moving with an RBI single.

Luis Cedeno followed it up with an RBI single of his own.

AJ Brotz brought home a run with an RBI groundout.

Noel Rivera kept the line moving with an RBI single.

TJ Baer closed out the inning with a two-run homerun.

The Red Foxes extended the lead with two runs in the bottom of the third to go up 9-1.

Luis Cedeno brought in a run on a fielder’s choice.

Luke Monico drove home a run with an RBI single.

The Bulldogs scored one run in the top of the fifth and make it 9-2.

Marist closed it out to win 9-2 in the seventh.
