NEWBURGH – Newburgh City Councilman Jonathan Jacobson defeated four other Democratic candidates to lock up the party line in the race for the 104th State Assembly District seat in the November election.
The district includes portions of Orange, Ulster and Dutchess counties.
Jacobson garnered 2,222 votes to 1,787 votes for Kevindaryan Lujan, 1,687 votes for Jodi McCredo, 1,283 votes to Ralph Coates and 1,006 votes for Alexander Kelly.
Jacobson will face Republican Scott Manley, a Newburgh town councilman, in the November election.
