Guilty Means A Call For Policing and Justice Reform

Taking into consideration what we see going on throughout this country re: “Police Brutality” and “murder,” of mainly African Americans, it causes one’s heart to ache very strongly. Truthfully, I am 81 years old and I’ve “Never” seen things to be to the degree that they are now.

What’s “Really” going on? Walking, running and driving while “Black” could possibly cause one to not ever be able to walk, run or drive ever again or even be able to ever breathe again. Wow!

What’s “Really” going on? Why is it “Really” going on? How is it “Really” going on in a country that “professes to largely be a “Christian” country? Jesus didn’t suggest, He “Commanded” us to “Love” one another! Where is that love? Evidently, it’s not within their hearts. Lord have mercy! Why? How? Why and how is it possible for such “Hatred” to be looming inside their hearts towards or against another human being? What is the “real” causative factor for “all” of this hatred? What could possibly change this horrible mess?

Their is a “national” cry for this madness to be addressed and ended but will that cry ever be “seriously” addressed? I don’t think so for this horrible inhumanity has been going on towards my people since my forefather’s were first stolen from their country and brought here.

What’s really going on and why is it really going on? Truthfully, I am at a loss to really be able to understand this “madness! I am at a loss for words. What kind of human being could be so inhumane towards another human being? Evidently, my people are not looked upon as being human beings by those that commit such great atrocities against us. But truthfully, we also cannot be considered to be animals by them, for they treat their animals better than they treat us. Wow!

Could their hatred towards us possibly be because we are a constant reminder of their forefathers inhumanity towards another human being? I don’t know, I’m just asking. What is the “real” reason that a policeman could hold his knee upon another human being’s neck, hear him cry “I Can’t Breathe” and still continue to keep his knee on that neck for over 15 minutes or more? What kind of human being could do that to another human being? What kind of heart could be beating inside of that policeman’s heart! Plastic? Wooden? Metal? Concrete? How is it possible for another human being to be so inhumane towards another human being? Truthfully, it’s so sad to say, but that kind of inhumane heart is beating inside very many of those policemen’s hearts. Truthfully, I do believe that many of them join police departments throughout this country so that they can have a license to commit such atrocities, mainly against people of color. Wow! Truthfully, that is very “frightening” to even think about.

What is it going to take to bring a “significant” halt to this madness? How many more people of colors’ lives are going to be allowed to be ended before this police “madness” is “seriously” addressed? How long? How long? How long? How long? How long? How long?

What is it going to take to stop this madness? A guilty verdict was brought forth in George Floyd’s death, but since that police murders are still going on. Evidently, that “Guilty” verdict had no significance or importance because the police murders are still going on. Why? Because the average policeman evidently feels that “Black” lives “really” don’t matter to those that have the power to bring their “racist” madness to an end. Wow!

To the policemen throughout this country, including in the city of Newburgh, why do you feel the need to snatch another human being’s humanity away from them? How is it possible that once you do so there is no remorse inside of you for doing so? What’s really going on inside your hearts when you see the life of another human being dying before your very eyes due to the bullet or knee that you used to take that life? How does it make you feel on the inside watching the life of another human being ending before your very eyes? Always remember that it takes a loving heart, a willing mind and a sensitive spirit to get to the core of the self. But when you do, you can root out the seeds of ugliness.

Let me end this with the words of Paul Robeson which say “We must realize that our future lies chiefly in our own hands!” To that I ask this question of our police, “What is it going to take to root out the ugliness inside of your hearts against people of color?

Please give some real “serious” thought to this most significant and important question! This country, including the city of Newburgh, most definitely needs “policing and justice reform” but will we ever see it? Only time will tell!

Never forget that “I Should Love You And You Should Love Me For That’s The Way That Our Lord ‘Commanded’ It To Be To Bring Peace And Love And Harmony Throughout Our Society!”
To the policemen throughout this country, including the city of Newburgh, “which way is it going to be?” The choice is up to you! Praise God!

This is “Lillie’s Point of View” and I’m just having my say! Now you can have yours. PEACE!
