Help Fight Hunger and Honor Your Mom On Mother’s Day

NEWBURGH – Brighten up your spring with a bouquet of flowers that fights hunger! Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh (MOW) has been chosen by the Stop & Shop on Rt. 300 in Newburgh to benefit from the store’s Bloomin’ 4 Good Program for the entire month of May.

The Stop & Shop Bloomin’ 4 Good Program is an easy way for shoppers to give back as part of their regular shopping routine. Every Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet with the red circle sticker purchased at the Rt. 300 Stop & Shop will result in a $1 donation to MOW. MOW is a non-profit charity whose volunteers deliver freshly prepared, nutritious meals to residents of the City of Newburgh and the Towns of Newburgh and New Windsor who are unable to provide their own meals due to age, illness or disability and are in need.

“Flowers can make someone’s day, brighten up a room or spread a smile,” said MOW President Carole McDermott. “Now they can also fight hunger! We are thrilled to be chosen to benefit from this unique and impactful Stop & Shop Program, as the demands of those in need are higher than ever this year.”

MOW Executive Director Robin Bello added, “With Mother’s Day coming up, this is the perfect time to buy Mom a Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet at Stop & Shop. Flowers always make a great gift for friends and colleagues too. Or just buy a Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet for yourself – you deserve it!”

To donate, volunteer or get more information about MOW, go to www.mealsonwheelsnewburgh.org or call 845-562-3490 weekday mornings and ask for Robin. To learn more about the Stop & Shop Bloomin’ 4 Good Program, visit stopandshop.bloomin4good.com.
