Trump is Suing Cousin and New York Times

POUGHKEEPSIE – Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States has filed a lawsuit against his cousin Mary Trump, three New York Times journalists, and the New York Times. The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday, September 21.

The three reporters had written articles concerning the former President’s tax returns. The stories date back to October of 2016. The lawsuit alleges that Mary Trump provided copies of tax documents that were used for the story, despite a non-disclosure agreement.

President Trump, through his attorney Alina Habba, says the defendants had “Collective efforts in tortiously breaching and/or interfering with his contractual rights and otherwise maliciously conspiring against him.”

The lawsuit says the “Defendants engaged in an insidious plot to obtain confidential and highly-sensitive records which they exploited for their own benefit and utilized as a means of falsely legitimizing their publicized works.”

Court records do not indicate that the defendants have been served with the lawsuit yet.
The former President is seeking “no less than $100 million dollars in damages” but is letting the court decide. No judge has been assigned to the case as of September 22.
