Legislator Ramos Helps Kick Off Women’s History Month

WEST POINT – Orange County Legislator Genesis Ramos was invited to the United States Military Academy at West Point to help kick off women’s history month.

Ramos said, “I Spent a beautiful afternoon at West Point Military Academy sharing my story and historical race to Cadets. Major Brian Harris invited me to speak at the Domestic Affairs Forum series highlighting people of color in local politics. We discussed breaking barriers, running and serving as a young person, and the impact local politics has on our everyday lives. It was such an engaging conversation, and Colonel Peters also made sure to create a welcoming and dynamic experience.”

Ramos, who is a newly elected official, concluded, “Sharing my story means invoking thought in others to step into their power.”
