Kiwanis Club Offers Yearly Highlights

NEWBURGH – The Kiwanis Club of Newburgh is composed of business, professional and retirees who are all dedicated to helping one child and one community at a time. The club also sponsors Service Leadership Programs through their two local high school Key Clubs, (NFA and Cornwall High School), with their advisors. Their goal is to raise funds for international projects such as Eliminating neo-natal tetanus, the Thirst project to bring clean water to poor struggling nations, and to help fight Pediatric Lyme disease.

Throughout the year, Kiwanians of Newburgh are involved in many projects which include the following: Take a Bite Out of Lyme, Warm Beginnings Baby Shower, Adopt a Highway Cleanup, 5K Run4Kids,and a Golf Outing with all proceeds going towards Scholarships for local high school seniors and for sending children to Kamp Kiwanis in the summer. They also participate in the Town of Newburgh Community Day, holiday bell ringing for the Salvation Army, Adopt-a-Family and preparing fruit baskets for Meals on Wheels clients for the Christmas holidays. The club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:30 am in Perkins Family Restaurant, 1421 Rte. 300 Newburgh, NY. They invite you to come and join them for a breakfast meeting.
