Raptors Fall to Clarkson in Conference Opener

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College women’s volleyball team lost to defending Liberty League champion Clarkson, 3-0, in the conference opener for both teams on Friday night.

The teams were even through a large portion of the first set, but Clarkson responded and won 25-16, 25-11 and 25-8.

“We started off aggressively,” Bard coach Lindsey Veersma said. “For some of our players, it was their first time seeing a Liberty League team. It’ll give us a good gauge for what to expect so we can come back strong on Saturday.”

Bard got five kills, eight digs and two aces from Ryan Lum. Adi David had 12 assists and four digs; Ella Small led Bard with 10 digs.

Bard next hosts St. Lawrence in another Liberty League match on Saturday afternoon.
