West Point Hoops Drop Heartbreaker at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Army West Point men’s basketball team (2-8, 0-0 PL) dropped a heartbreaker Friday night at Harvard (7-3, 0-0 Ivy) by a score of 70-64.

TJ Small had a career night scoring a career high 12 points in the first half and finishing with 20 to match the team-high (Curry at Indiana, Barker vs. Le Moyne) for the season.

Army used a late first half flurry from Small, Jared Cross, Blake Barker, Kendall Hailey, and AJ Allenspach to come back from down five to go into the locker room up one at halftime.

The Black Knights used a 9-2 run to open the second half to jump out to a 39-31 lead.

A Small three pointer made it a 10 point game with 13:41 left. The Crimson would respond however, going on a 17-6 run to take a one point lead with 7:36 left.

The lead would change hands four more times down the stretch with Harvard coming out on top 70-64.

Abe Johnson had an impressive game on the glass with 13. Curry finished with 13 points as well.

Army now has a little bit of a break from games with the next game being on Sunday, Dec. 17 against Stony Brook at 1 PM in Christl Arena.
