NEWBURGH – More than 150 members of the local community attended an Easter celebration and egg hunt at Mount Saint Mary College on Sunday, March 24th.
Approximately 1,600 eggs were hidden on the Mount campus for the children to find. The Easter bunny was available for photo ops as well.
The festivities also included face painting, egg coloring, and other arts and crafts activities. Lunch was served for all attendees, and children also enjoyed an interactive Easter show that featured dancing, singing, and jumbo soap bubbles.
The event ended with a raffle, where three families won Easter baskets filled with candy, coloring books, gift cards, and more.
The Easter egg hunt was a collaboration between the Mount’s Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness and the Office of Residence Life on campus. In addition, students from the college’s Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) volunteered to help make the event a success.
