More Insight into the Fire At 24 City Terrace

NEWBURGH – On Saturday, May 4th at 6:46 AM the City of Newburgh Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an alarm sounding at 24 City Terrace. Truck 1 was first to arrive at 6:48 AM, and conducted a search of the first floor to confirm no inhabitants were inside. Two inhabitants escaped the building and were found in the rear yard. Crews extinguished the fire on the first floor and then extinguished fire moving towards the roof. The two inhabitants were transported by Empress Ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital with non-line threatening injuries. Seven persons were displaced and Red Cross was called to assist them with housing. Mutual aid response was by West Point, Air National Guard, and Cronomer Valley, Good Will and Middlehopefire departments.
