Men’s Tennis Collects Conference Victory

NIAGARA FALLS – Freshman Nick Suhanitis, playing at fourth singles, came back from one set down to win the evening’s deciding match in three sets to propel the Marist men’s tennis team to a 4-3 win over Niagara Saturday night in the team’s MAAC opener. The match was played at the Village Glen Tennis Club in Williamsville, New York.

“ It was a noteworthy win on many levels,” said Director of Tennis Gary Sussman. “We were able to overcome a difficult league opponent on the road, and the hard work the team has put in over the last several weeks finally paid dividends. It was a true team effort, as Tomas and Paolo won a tiebreak at third doubles to capture the doubles point, Christian and Alex both had two wins and Nick displayed great fortitude in his come from behind win to capture the match when all eyes were on him.”
