Poughkeepsie Middle School is one of five schools nationwide chosen to participate in a pilot project from an educational services company. Creative Learning Systems is working to bring the experience of its SmartLab (one of which is installed at PMS) into people’s homes. After feedback from teachers, including PMS’ own Tovah Goldfarb, they created the SmartLab @Home Backpack, which they expect to launch nationally in September. PMS students and their families have a chance to pilot the backpacks beginning next week for a two-week pilot program and provide feedback prior to that launch.

Since March, Hudson Link’s Academic Coordinators have been working nonstop to ensure that classes for nearly 600 students at five New York State prisons were able to continue remotely with as little interruption as possible.
