SUNY Orange recently celebrated the first cohort of students (most of whom are shown above) who completed the College’s new Direct Support Professional 1 microcredential during a ceremony in the Gerry Forum of the Rowley Center on the Middletown campus. Simultaneously, the students earned a National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals competencies e-badge. The students successfully passed a college-level Introduction to Human Services course, and were evaluated on a field work experience. The microcredential is designed to help Direct Support Professionals serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enhance their careers and skills.
