About 10 years ago, Hanna Sheppard of Brookhaven, N.Y. suffered a spinal injury that almost robbed her of her ability to walk. She dove into her pool and hit the concrete head-on, cracking her C5 vertebra in half. When she began taking classes at the Mount in 2012, she walked using a pair of crutches. Students Place in Business Plan Competition

MIDDLETOWN - RECAP’s Addiction treatment programs got a head start on Earth Day this week with a cleanup of Low Avenue and Smith Street in Middletown. The TRUST Center day treatment program and New Life Manor halfway house, along with staff, board and volunteers spent two hours on Wednesday, April 13 outside the TRUST Center with gloves and bagsduring this annual Earth Day activity. The project came together with support from two local businesses. Donations of supplies came from Home Depot and a pizza lunch was donated by Franco di Roma restaurant in Middletown.
