On Sunday, March 1, 2026, seven community trailblazers were honored for their dedicated service as well as leadership and other revered qualities at the 2026 Black Achiever’s Awards. Several Beulah Baptist Church members as well as political dignitaries attended, including; City of Poughkeepsie Mayor, Yvonne Flowers and Senator, Rob Rollison. The inspiring evening was led by the Social Action Ministry of the Church, guided by Servant Leader and Presenter, Sister Rasonia, “Ray Ray,” Squire.

Monday, the Pete and Toshi Seeger Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade kicked off the Southern Dutchess Coalition, Inc. MLK Jr. 46th Annual Birthday Celebration in the City of Beacon.

On left is Brett Lipton and to his right is Dutchess County Sheriff, Kirk Imperati, who at halftime of Thursday’s Women’s Basketball game at McCann Center Arena, presented Lipton with an honorary Deputy Sheriff identification and badge as well as promise to be hired as a police officer, correcting a longtime injustice endured by Lipton.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh held their Annual Volunteer Day of Service on Monday, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where a large contingent of devoted volunteers helped work on several houses as well as participate in the Annual Luncheon, not only building homes, but critical community and lasting relationships.
